Marlene Wisuri is a photographer, artist, author, and teacher from northern Minnesota who has been creating exceptional photography for over 50 years. Marlene received a Creative Support for Individuals Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board to create a virtual photographic exhibit to display some of her work. The goal was to create a clean, easily-navigable site with her photography as the focus.
The resulting site, “Marlene Wisuri – 50 Years: A Retrospective Photography Exhibit” is a journey through time, viewed through Marlene’s photographic lens. In this virtual exhibit, visitors can learn more about Marlene, what led to her discovery of photography early in her life, and how that grew into a lifelong pursuit. A reflection of Marlene’s teaching influence, the site also includes resources where visitors can expand their knowledge through photographic and cultural resources, two of her greatest passions. Of course the primary feature of the site is the expansive gallery of photographs from Marlene’s 50-year career, showcased in various photographic mediums and styles.
I really enjoyed working with Marlene on this site to highlight her wide expanse of work over the past 50 years! One of my favorite things about what I do is getting to meet and work with local artisans, craftspeople and entrepreneurs – the greatest resources of the Northland! It is a “joy” for me to build a site that showcases their unique talents, products, personality, and vision.
