The Midwest Consortium for Hazardous Waste Worker Training (MWC) provides model training programs to workers and residents who may be exposed to hazardous substances. This programming is delivered by 13 training centers in 9 states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. The program is housed within the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
MWC previously had a website when it was housed within a different instutituion. Upon transferring to the University of Minnesota, they needed a new web presence and branding to complement the U of M brand. I worked with MWC faculty, staff, and instructors to develop a visually engaging site with consistent branding. A key component of the site was the development of a new course database system. The instructors wanted a searchable clearinghouse where all course materials could easily be accessed and downloaded, with a variety of filter and search functions.
In addition to launching the new website, I also developed a new logo for the Consortium, and developed social media graphics and an electronic newsletter template, the MWC Messenger.
